Re: Jinji's Developer Log

The debate officially ended only four hours ago. I'm going to go through the feedback in a couple of hours and make a decision about it.

What I can say already though, is based on the early feedback, many people seemed to be drawn to two specific designs - yours and masterj's - and some have even suggested we may want to look into combining the two somehow. That might be something worth discussing at some point.

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

hey Jinji, we don't have more help of shane, xanatus, zammbi, and others dev or admin ? we need's of help in token store, you don't belive? why all guys now have fear of buy token, why having one big time for received, the tokens in acc, with help of other admin or dev, with blue, would be much faster, and would put all issues to date.

what you think? ::)

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

Your post is hard for me to understand... but I think I get what you're saying. You're asking why other Staff members don't join in with dealing with Token Issues in order to make it faster?

Being honest, I agree with you - support for the Token System is currently woefully understaffed. With me regaining database access earlier this week I can finally assist Bluerise with it again, so hopefully we can speed up a little now; but it would be nice to get other hands on it as well. The most qualified would be Fenikkusu since he developed the system; however he's been gone for some time now and I'm pretty sure he's retired from PWO. Zammbi officially retired a while ago so he's out of the picture; which leaves Shane, Xanatus and ThuGie - all of whom are busy enough with their own activities towards the game (Client, Server/Funding and Server respectively) that it's unfair to demand more from them really.

So basically we can't rely on any of our existing DEV and Admin team to join in with the Token Issues as they are already busy enough or not available often enough to lend a proper supporting hand. And it'd be very foolish of us to employ a DEV or Admin purely to help with this considering the amount of access to our game they would likely end up having. Bit of a catch-22 situation, really.

We are testing out an idea for a new donation system which hopefully will not only work better, but will also make more detailed records of transactions made so that disputes can be settled quicker; this is still in progress but hopefully it will provide a more effective solution to the Token Issues in the near future. There's not a lot more I can tell the public about regarding this system at this point in time; but hopefully we can reveal more details soon.

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

Jinji, do you guys have any sort of schedule when it comes to resolving missing Token issues? I noticed that you guys retrieved about 50-60 people's tokens, and then stopped with a few pages still remaining. (And my tokens waiting about 15 places back in line :p)

I'm not asking this to sound impatient, I'm just wondering if you take care of token issues as you feel like it or if there's a pattern to when you start going through the list of people that didn't get their tokens. And, yes, I will admit, that I am kinda asking this because I'm waiting on Membership.  ;)

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

There's no schedule - it's basically whenever we have free time for it.

Essentially, he's asking if a highly active member of the staff (eg. bis ) could be given permission to handle tokens. At least I think >_<

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

Our current system doesn't allow for this for security reasons; but perhaps if someone designed a specific front-end for that functionality it could be made available to other Staff in the future...

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

Plus it's not as simple as giving them a way to beable to communicate the system.  You're suggesting expanding on the role of other staff members, as an example - why should a mapper be able to give tokens?

They should be focusing on the main aim of their group, not getting spammed and hate messages because they didn't give someone tokens within 30 seconds.

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

fine mist, thanks for your help. that's exactly what I said  ::)

Jinji that good, that you think so, I know that each has an important role, and in most cases because they are super busy with their own tasks  ;)

now lee you... always treats me with contempt, saying that I'm giving spam or using inappropriate post, but as I have no function, or can not do anything to improve the game, try to talk to people who can surgerindo ideas, because I like the game, and I know that one day someone will give some idea, which can be put to good use  8)

srry for by outburst  :(

Wait, what?  I have never stated such things.

Stop taking my posts as attacks when they're clearly not.  I'm just putting some thought into your suggestion.

Re: Jinji's Developer Log

Thanks to both a more relaxed schedule recently and help from Mist, I'm pleased to announce today the return of not just the Chain Game, which I'd hyped for some time now; but also the return of the Mystery Cup Brawl, now hosted in combination with Mist and with a small rename to "Mystery Brawl Cup"; and with a few new twists introduced by him.

The Mystery Brawl Cup challenges you to take the role of a Pokémon and attack other players also playing the game using attacks that Pokémon can learn, in order to score points and identify other's weaknesses; while trying to keep the Pokémon you've chosen a secret. Through strategy and logic, your aim is to work out the Pokémon others have chosen to play as and identify them to score major points; but if you are identified yourself you get knocked out and have to lose points to play again! The new game features monthly and yearly tournaments and a returning champion complex; plus the ability to purchase bonuses for your Pokémon with your accrued score.

http://pokemon-world-online.net/forum/index.php/topic,7082.0.html

Meanwhile, the new, fourth reincarnation of the Chain Game brings a neat new twist in the form of team play. No longer is it simply Players vs. Staff - now it's Staff vs. Players too; with each group working together as a team to keep control of the game and create chains to score points towards their team, with the aim of having the most points as a team at the end of the year - but it's not just a team game as your own individual performances also count! With a simplified rule-set and much more interactivity, this is possibly the greatest revision PWO has ever played!

http://pokemon-world-online.net/forum/index.php/topic,7139.0.html

We hope you enjoy the new games and have fun while competing against or teaming up with your fellow PWO players - and all feedback is encouraged. 'Cos when the World plays together, the fun never ends.
