As said previously, we are open to all possibilities at the moment. What's important is that people's submissions fulfil the aforementioned criteria (read first post); and we can see what it took to get there.

@ CoolKnightST: I'm a girl. Just saying xD"

In my opinion Unity is the best program to do this. You can not only make browser games with it but also for PC, iOS, etc.
Features like Character customization can be talked about intern, after the basic client is working.
I know about how much work this is and what it means to write a new Client since I'm working in a game company.
As for myself, I'll stay passive to this and go with the final decision of the staff team.

Hey, wondering if there's still a possibility of applying? Oh, when you say we must have an account that isn't banned are you saying it with the context of "You can't have any banned accounts," or are you saying "You're currently banned to the point where you're not welcome to pwo so you can't apply." ?

Also from my understanding you want us to create a basic model, or can we use a pre - existing work with proof of course.

You may apply as long as you have atleast 1 account that you are able to play on. This means if you have 5 accounts and 4 are banned, you may still apply. If you have 5 accounts and all 5 are banned, you can not apply however.

Edit: Lee will correct me if I am wrong.

well jinji, java IS a resource/ram hog.

personally Unity is the best option, me and my friends taht are making our droid apps and our MMOs are using Unity for our projects. its nice.

If you don't know what you are doing, yes java can be a memory hog.

I've been using java for game developing(a pokemon mmorpg, but won't advertise ofc) for a while and I'm just fine with it. I think you guys should go with Java or html5.

Well, that word is considered vulgar to some people, as not only is it the male equivalent of another offensive term which can also mean "female dog"; but it also has a secondary meaning which boils down to "illegitimate child" or "child who doesn't know their father". While it also has other, less offensive meanings - and I don't consider it an offensive term myself, when used humorously - we have to consider the community; and I don't think many parents would like to hear that word said to their children.

Hello PWO Staff.

I've noticed quite a few bugs which seem really easy to fix but are crucial for the game to be enjoyable and as I've been a programmer for many years and am experienced in various programming languages(C/C++, Java, PHP, Perl, JS, HTML, MySQL, etc.) I'd love to take a look on the source of both the server and the client to try and help out.

I don't have any complete game projects as I haven't really had the time nor the will to develop any games up until now. However I have a half-done multiplayer game developed in Java which i could provide source from.

Anyway most of the bugs I've experienced seem easy to fix and so I'd love to help. PM or mail <!-- e --><a href="mailto:eek:scar@lweb.nu">oscar@lweb.nu</a><!-- e --> for more information.

Regards,
Oscar

Hey guys! I've got some experience on programming, I'm also a quick learner and good at error detection, I would like to form part of the development of this project as I really enjoy this game and would like to get some experience in the development of this kind of programs (MORPGs).

If you'd like a Helping Hand in coding or in the creation of new items or quests, I could start with that (which would mainly be copying and changing older quests and items). That's obviously if you feel you could spend some time showing me how you've developed the game so far... well... in any case I'm up for a challenge like this! Please feel free to contact me in-game (Manduke) or through the forums (since I'm not too keen on publishing my e-mail on forums) so I can send you my email or some kind of alternate way of communicating.

Regards and hope one of you gives me the chance to help...

Manduke

Why does it look like I've seen this before, when I was just learning to program I remember getting lazy and searching for a cheap way out. I'm pretty sure this is one of the Pokemon starter kits, well, in any case even an engine I made would beat this out, lol. But good luck getting on the team.

Nah, this to me reeks of an RPG Maker 2003 game, with just a Pokémon theme overlaid on it (I cut my teeth on the RPG Makers, so I know one when I see one). The Starter Kit is RPG Maker XP; and actually changes much of the in-built scripting, so this is even LESS effort.

I figured as much, on my programming journey I have run across this as well, it's basically a cheap attempt at starting of a Pokemon mmo, mind you it's pretty inefficient, not only this you can tell this isn't made from C++ bud. Your biggest mistake however, was trying to hide the GUI outline and such, I mean any real developer would want all of their work noticed.
