That's correct. Blaine has only been temporarily relocated to the Seafoam Islands, as a refuge, as a Gym Leader setup, while his Cinnabar Island gym is being reconstructed—he hasn't been changed for the event in any way other than a relocational change to the Seafoam Islands for now.

A volcanic eruption can be good or bad, it can be beneficial to a region especially with things like agriculture but it can also cause things like Pompeii and it has also erupted in the past - you can remember what it looked like in the Gen 2 games. What changes lie in store for the island this time?

I also Hope all the residents and pokemon were able to get to safety, it won't be easy for them ina time like this.
