Begone System Error (1 Of Many) + Poll!

Earlier this evening, the password recovery function via the Playerdex was temporary disabled. Following comments in the IRC, a number of users were getting system errors. So after doing some small checks which all failed - I decided to disable it all completely and in the last hour or so finally got it working.



Recently there have been some changes made on the back end and the Playerdex hasn't been updated to cover these changes therefore this is why membership pages etc... are currently displaying the system error messages. Password recovery has been updated to ignore a part of it's duty that it would have been able to perform should these changes have not took place. Hopefully soon enough, it will be able to perform this duty again.



As for anyone waiting for emails, I have cleared out the requests due to this so you'll have to make another request for your password. We're sorry for all these issues that are on-going and we're trying to iron them out as soon as we spot them or are made aware of them.



Just before the arrival of replies, since people now have easier access to the forums. We're currently running a poll which will decide upon the future of two features. These two features are the bottombar and IP. Chat. Both features aren't currently available and whether they will stay that way depends on the poll. So get voting, the poll will close next Friday (9th September) at 10pm GMT.

The password reset has been slightly updated. If you attempt a request while the mail system is down, it should no longer register in the database. System error only appears if the mail system is down.

My most pressing concern however is that this poll ends up being too close too call - which, though I do not wish it, I can foresee happening.

I love all the updates <3 they make me feel included haha! i voted yes on both. i never used the bottom bar but i just figure it wouldn't be considered if there wasn't something good about it. but iP chat of course! i loved the chat before and hopefully i will again.

Something shouldn't return just because we got use to it, otherwise that's like saying changes shouldn't be made because we got use to how stuff works as current.



What should be considered is if you're going to find it useful and if it will have a negative or positive experience of the network for yourself. Also note that the IP. Chat service itself costs money, money which could have better use.

Well i said we got used to it , because when the server was down we all went to the Ip chat, i didnt know that it costs money , my bad, and yes you can use those money for other purposes

Also, not having IP.Chat, doesn't mean we can't have a chat - as the old TV saying goes, "other alternatives are always available". And you never know, they could be much better.

iirc, telume said having the IP chat kills the server performance-wise.

Plus, if it costs money, i don't see a use to having it, especially if there's better free alternatives that we can use.

System error only occurs if the mail system has crashed.
