A few years ago, I googled something along the lines of "online pokemon game," and I found Pokemon Indigo. After a while of playing Indigo, I saw a fake PWO ad and did another quick google search, downloaded PWO, unzipped the archive, and played.

I think I played it years ago, when you had to click your way around. Back then I found it just by searching for free online multiplayer games I suppose. I play it right now, mainly because I could remember the game, so I checked it out again, and saw how it have evolved, so I joined in once again.

That's my 2 cent...

I was all "WOO! Pokemon in my WoW?! HELLS YES! I always wanted to play a pokemon mmo!" When they announced the recent WoW expansion even though I stopped playing the game like 3 years ago. And a friend was all "they already have a Pokemon mmo *link*" And that's the story.

On a faithful day in early 2008, when I was rather bored with World of Warcraft, I was playing my Diamond. Then I had a random thought about a Pokémon game I used to play online way back when. Well I decided to open up Google and type in 'Pokémon MMO.' After scrolling through the first page of so called "MMOs" I almost gave up. I mean, they were all pretty much had 2 different layouts, neither of which were what I was looking for. So I moved on to the next page, telling myself 'if there's nothing on this one, then there won't be anything.' As the sites continued to follow the pattern of those on the first page, I was getting so close to giving up hope. That's when one of the links brought me to PWO. I looked it over, decided it might be worth a peek and downloaded the client after registering.

When I got in to the early, I guess it was Alpha, 0.17 Version of the game, I was not disappointed by what they had so far. It wasn't anything nearly as good as it is now today, but it was along the lines of what I wanted. I was hooked. I played a lot, using those Pokémon they gave you to start out with and to play around. We all were pretty much just looking for the bugs back then. We didn't care how buggy it was. It was a Multiplayer Online Pokémon game and that was all that mattered to us.

Unfortunately Real Life can be such a cruel mistress and I had to go depart. It was a sad time, but I had to go. When things settled down for me a few months later, I went to come back, only to find out Nintendo had forced the shut down. I lost all hope for a MOP game.

Time went on and I always remembered this place. I got busy with life again, but always made sure to come back and check, since the site was never taken down. Eventually I noticed that it was up and running again. I was joyous! Unfortunately, they had only small windows for Registration. I would come back when ever I could to try my luck and finally, this past weekend, I finally succeeded in Registering again. And even with all these crashes and all the down time, I'm still happy. I mean, it's going to level out sooner or later and now that I finally got a name here again after so many years, I'll wait for as long as I have to to play. <3[/endlifestory] Hehe

I found PWO maybe a month or so after Pokemoncrater shut down. I checked back on Pokemoncrater and wound up finding information on PWO there.

She gave me the link to the actual xat and from there i was guided to download the game and play. and have no life. [= not complaining though q=

Well, I craved some vintage pokemon for the first time in years.

Halfway through the day I get a craving to play some pokemon.

Hadn't played any games consoles apart from laptop and iPhone for months and I packed everything away into bags and the bags went into cupboards around two months ago.

So, I start looking for my pokemon games. I vaguely remember keeping my games in a little pink purse thing and an hour or so into the search I find the pink purse thing. It's unzipped, open and empty.

So I shrug it off thinking that I must've moved them somewhere more accessible.

Another hour passes. By now I've searched one wardrobe. Nothing else in here. Find multitude of pokemon figures and cards but no cartridges. This increases the craving into a need to play some sweet, sweet Pokemon. I snap myself out of it; before I am called a master again I must apparently work to find the game. So I move on.

Now, I am searching a little space above my bed that I now use as a game department.

Bear in mind that I am searching every bag very thoroughly.

I find my N64 and it's games; including Conker's Bad Fur Day, Pokemon snap and stadiums. But the N64 games are not what my craving cries for. So I carry on. I find a little purse with straps containing my GBC and GBA. This contains a few of the consoles' games but none of them pokemon.

I don't think this is a big deal. The pokemon games will be with my DS.

Another hour passes. Nothing else to be found there, so I move onto my drawers. This is where I do remember keeping my DS.

So I pull out and search the drawers, one by one. At the back of the last drawer I search, under some films and games, I find my DS. It has a cartridge in it.

I swear to myself as it's Rock Band but I am glad to have found my DS.

I go downstairs. Watch TV. think that maybe they are down the garage in the clear little box I remember keeping them all in.

But it's too late to look now.

I come back upstairs and search another two drawers. I find the clear box with both DS and GBA games in.

I get excited, searching through the games.

No pokemon.

Then I searched online and found PWO.

Okay I haven't posted here yet.

So, I play World of Warcraft. Since getting better at that game, I grew curious as to what other MMO-type games were out there in this vast internet I'm on all day, everyday.

I had recently picked up my Yellow version and started carrying it around in my Gameboy Color in my purse to take wherever I went. (Sometimes I go with my fiance' to visit his parents and everyone ends up falling asleep on the couch after dinner and I'm stuck there bored out of my mind so I play my games or I read.) I decided to see if there was anything on Nintendo coming out with an MMO and got a bunch of posts all pointing to "no it will never happen." Discouraged, I tried some of the wannabe sites where you just use the arrow keys and to the side it'll say if you ran into a wild Pokemon or not. Blah. Not what I wanted. I finally stumbled upon PWO but it was down as the site was getting rebuilt I guess you could call it. So every once in a while I'd check to see if there was any news on registration yet and no luck. I finally saw there was a chat room, so I joined that and got to know a few people in my search for answers about the site. Luckily I stuck around enough that I became a familiar "face" and was able to finally register. I was really happy and so far (even with bugs, lag and crashes) it's been worth waiting for. I really enjoy the community and the staff. <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/JigglyLOL.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" />
