Stone using

Hey fellas,
ich have a growlithe and nidorino, i kno that i have to use a firestone and moonstone for the evolution. i bought both and gave it to my pokemons but nothing happend.
They holding the stones right now. Can someone help me? And i have an hunter too, just wanne evolve him, how can i make a trade?

You don't need to give the stones to them, you'll have to left-click on the stone and then choose the desired Pokemon to use it on.
