There's a rumour that the sprites for Butterfree and Venomoth were mixed up. If you match up a picture of Caterpie and the current sprite for Venomoth, they both have the three crests on their head (even Metapod has three spikes coming off it), and if you look at Venonat and Butterfree, both purple, red eyes and have two long antenis.

Nothing every announced, just something I thought was cool.

And I can confirm that this works. Done it myself on red and yellow version.

The Jigglypuff part isn't necessary, just makes it easier to catch Abra.

this one is commonly known but i always thought it was interesting.

-The developers of the original red and blue games at first intended for marowak to evolve into kangaskhan. However, last minute adjustments eventually yielded the decision that kangaskhan would not be an evolution but its own species. Since it would have taken a lot of time to remove the code sequence of pre-evolution, the developers just moved the code into another slot, one without a number...Hence, "Missingno"

Idk if this is true or not..>_>

U know cubone right? It has a skull on its face right? It's actually his dead mother's skull. He wears it around to hide his true face.. Without the skull, he might look like a baby kangashkan! <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/AipomSurprised.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" />

kangas.png

Sunkern has the lowest stat total of all pokes.

Wooper can learn ice punch. But? Got No Arms LoL

That whole kangaskhan and butterfree/venomoth stuff is crazy. <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/SquirtleEmbarrassed.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt="o_o" /> I always thought venonat and butterfree looked alike but never thought as far as to them being switched around.. it's very clear they are now lol

I was reading about it on another forum and apparently the same happens with Garchomp too.. it appears as if Garchomp was originally made for a Carvanha>Sharpedo>Garchomp chain or something of the sort.

The resemblances are too much to be a coincidence. Eyes, ripped fins, colouring, star on head, fangs.. And lets face it, Garchomp really looks more like it should have been Dark/Dragon or Dark/Water and not Ground/Dragon. lol

Omg. So restarting my Yellow!

Of course, I should probably wait until I'm finished with Pokediary

but it won't take too long to get that far into the game..

Hm. Guess I'm going to do that now! <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/PikachuExcited.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":D" /> Mew, here I come!!

Try to spell Arbok backwards too. you get "Kobra" (Cobra means Snake in portuguese) <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/PikachuExcited.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":D" />

I've got several:

1) Shellos was originally intended to be the pre-evolution of Lapras.

2) In Pokemon DP, the rival's hairstyle was different in the BETA test version.

3) Magikarp and Gyarados / Feebas and Milotic are both symbols of a power underdog and a beauty underdog. Surprisingly, Feebas can learn TMs and HMs, because it's not exactly "weak."

4) The Kami Trio, Thunderus, Tornadus, and Landlus, are pretty much "gods," because "Kami" is Japanese for "God."

5) The Sandile family (Sandile, Krokorok, and Krookodile) may be a reference to Crocodile in One Piece (just an assumption).

6) Kanto is based on the Kanto and Chubu Regions.

7) The Sevii Islands are based on the Izu and Bonin Islands.

8) Johto is based on the Kansai and Chubu Regions.

9) Hoenn is based on the Kyushu and Okinawa Regions.

10) Sinnoh is based on the Hokkaido Island, as well as parts of Sakhalin and Kunashir Island.

11) Unova is based on the Manhattan area of New York City.

idk if this can be categorized as "facts", but just something thats been bothering me since i first watch the anime..

i notice that there are no "animals" or "pets" in the anime.. there's only pokemons.. so in the pokemon wolrd, pets = catched pokes, wild pokes = wild animals

so if u think about it, in the game, we hunt for "animals" in the wild, we hurt those "animals" so it's weak and we catch em, we put those "animals" in a small ball, and we use those "animals" to fight other trainer's "animals" for our own glory..

No matter how they put stories about trainer-pokemon love at each other, this is still an issue abt animal cruelty.. lol

im just sayin.. <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/PikachuExcited.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":D" />

I for one cannot believe that worked. I'm still in awe. I just went through it on an emulator.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned this

Until the 5th generaltion, the only final form~ non legendary dragon type pokemon that did NOT have a double-weakness to ice was Kingdra

Dragonite ~ Dragon / Flying

Salamence ~ Dragon / Flying

Flygon ~ Ground / Dragon

Altaria ~ Dragon Flying

Garchomp ~ Ground / Dragon

Kingdra ~ Dragon / WATER

and now Hydreigon ~ Dark / Dragon

Heracross is the only Bug-type Pokemon able to learn Megahorn, even though Megahorn is a Bug-type move

- In-game, Caterpie and Goldeen have the exact same cry.

[/quote]

Sawsbuck can learn Megahorn too, now. Although it's a Move Tutor move, and there is no tutor in BW...

Caterpie and Goldeen aren't EXACTLY the same if you listen to them. But if we're going on this topic, Bellsprout and Psyduck have nearly the same cries, and so so the Charmander evolution's and Rhyhorn. Those are just the ones I'm remembering right now.

Another one that may not seem as interesting. In 2009, three new Mystery Dungeon games came out as WiiWare in Japan. Other than Pokemon Trading Card Game 2 on the Gameboy, those are some of the only Pokemon games that actually haven't come across the borders. It's kind of weird, since Pokemon seems to be more popular in America than it is in Japan (It's been gaining in popularity recently too, I've found). That's not counting Pokemon Rumble Blast, since it'll be coming to America in around two weeks... Haha.

The Japanese version of Pokemon Crystal came with a wire that would attach to a phone line to allow online battles (No, I'm serious. You read right. ONLINE battles in Pokemon Crystal). The Pokemon Center in Goldenrod City was originally much larger, but it was changed to a regular Pokemon Center since the US version didn't come with that cable. It didn't come with the cable because they thought westerners... Actually, I have no idea what they were thinking. >_>; Haha.

Found out those last two thanks to Serebii.net. I check that place every day. I love it. XD
