Scheduled Server Down Time

Hey pwo, I have been granted the privilege of being Admin here, and to help develop to make this game much more glorious then it already is, I have been making some improvements to the server and will test them in the scheduled down time, at 2:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (-5 GMT).

Hopefully, a fix to negative experience will come in the updates, cross your fingers!

As tom said, the exp 'problem' might be fixed, so just train them as usual and wait for the update

Actually, i dont think the -exp is a problem, but fixing it is something good to do

Wow i kinda hated to see negitave xp. atleast i wont be on at 2:00am cause ill be sleeping so when i wake up i can evolve my pokemon without seeing -#######. Thanks

It's a visual bug. The amount of exp is correct, its just displayed rather badly. By "fixing it" he more than likely means it will display all positive values.

In the handhelds the amount of experience from one evolution to the next does not change. For example say a charmander needs to have 1000 experience at level 15, charizard would also need just 1000.



In pwo this is untrue, Charmander might need just 1000 at level 15, while charizard might need 1200. This gives you a result of negative 200 experience.

In truth, I suppose negative exp is a visual error brought on by a leveling system far different from the games.



If you plan on evolving your pokemon at the correct levels... well then it is just a visual error.



Because it can be exploited, I will not go into detail how it's more than just a visual error otherwise.

ok i just dont know where to put this but i got a huge problem i cant use anything on my keyboard but the arrow keys....so i wud love sum help so i can talk in game again

yea since i am an old player a lot of my poks downgraded from lvl 100 to around 70 and have now minus exp

Lol for the best I think Negative exp was a good thing while it lasted, and at the same time I think its good that it may possibly be removed. I just got through 2 pokes of -exp in the past week. One that had 1.5 Mil -exp and another at just 190k. will we gain all the XP we should have gained? because my pokemon would have been way higher than they are now if it wasnt for that.

kay,, what do you mean exactly by "fixing" the negative exp?

if u just fix the visual error, well, is it really necessary? since we still have to train that exact amount of exp..

but if u just magically erase all neg exp, will it be fair to other players who have trained millions of exp manually to deal with their pokes neg exp?



so, unless PWO will implied a new exp/lvl up system, just let them be.. maybe because of registration is back on so there are many new players starting to ask abt this again, but a simple explanation will be enough to give them understanding about these negative exp.. there are lots of other issues to deal inn PWO, and i don't think neg exp issue should be on top priorities..

Funny story, I figured out the negative xp problem, but shortly after i unlocked the server.

There WAS a fix to it, but in the wrong place, which i will update real quick tomorrow (24 hours from now) about, no time decided, and it will only be down for a few minutes.

And don't be said theres no more negative xp, I hope to add a higher level maximum when hoehn comes out, to 200 about, maybe 150 depending how hard it is to level up, so everything after your second region isn't level 97. Long way to come I believe.

I have an update log in the logs sub section, if you want to be kept up with my doings, stay tuned.

At least increase the lvl of wild pokemons if you are going to increase the max lvl ... else its useless to have lvl 150 when you can battle only with low lvl wild pokes

Tom210 and another staff, by better if yours back to update little by little 1-4th pokemons to 5th moves sets and add some 4th pokemons to token shop (Starly, Shinx and etc).
