PWO's Monthly Auction

After pitching this idea to the staff, we have agreed to start a trial based auction, of auctioning 2 pokemon per month from banned accounts.

how this will work will go as follows:

a pokemon or two will be placed up for auction, and the person who bids the highest on it, until the end of the month, will win.

what im looking for is this

a combination of pokemoney, + pokemon

the only acceptable pokemon offers will be: Horribly Rare (HR), Un Catchable (UC), Shiny rares, Shiny very rares, Shiny horrible rares, and shiny uncatchables.

In response to bobpaulo, I think my offer is much better. You can get more then 500M for Shiny Forretress (i recently sold one for 720M).  The max you will even remove from the game for his is 1B, and even that is a stretch because very few people have that much money.

the opening week will be for the opening bids. after the opening week is done (1/9/12) it will proceed as followed

whoever has the highest bid on a pokemon, and hasnt been outbid for 4 days, automatically wins it.

But I must voice that i think this is a bad idea for two reasons.

1. We ought to consider that some of these pokes are from banned accounts were obtained illegally. So releasing them into the PWO community seems wrong.

2. New players will clearly get out bid by those of us who have been here for a long time, so this will merely widen the growing gap between new and old players.

Just my two cents. If we are going to proceed, of course I will bid, but that's my opinion on the matter.

Yes older players will get better pokemon, but at the same time take out some money from the game allowing the money gap between new players and old players to shrink. If this happens you can expect some prices of items to go down (surfboard use to be 10 mil, now there 200k). Pokemon are pokemon, why shouldn't a player who's been around the game for 5 years have a significant advantage over someone who joined 5 months ago? They have put in the time and work and should be rewarded accordingly.  However these pokes won't give any players a insurmountable advantage that new players can't surpass them. This will help everyone in pwo.

For me being still very new and still very poor compared to most I would still love to purchase some of the pokes that would end up on this type of auction but wont be able to compete at all. Look at the prices they already crossed 300 mil, so those are going to be the going rates for these shinys ingame now. Ofc its going to give a gold sink but with a cap of 900mil on players its not going to have any real effect on prices ingame. I'm straying off topic but its still a good idea more or less.

Pokes are only being sold from BANNED accounts. There are no shiny gardes on banned accounts.
