Pwo History...?

Ok so I first saw the game around June of this year 2011 and I tried registering but I couldnt but I finally did and I have been playing non stop. So I've been here around 3 months now and I would like to know PWO before I came on to it. Anyone wanna give me a history lesson?..haha

what irks me about that, is that whoever wrote the history has one paragraph on actual history, and 4 paragrahps on something that happened like 3 weeks prior (the zidonuke incident) and basically skipped close to 4 years of history.

It was done by 4 people. The first person did the beginning of pwo about how kyro started it, then about 3 sentences on the new ownership of the game. The next person then the majority of the zidonuke stuff, and the 3rd person detailed it a bit more.

it would be cool to show a much fuller history, like when the money bug happened and completely destroyed the economy (which has always been bad.) but that was a major event. i remember the great crash of 2010/2011 and when 420Guillotine was dominant amongst the land. There is a lot of history in pwo, it deserves a spot history books nationwide.

I to play this game non stop. Its a really good game and I've been waiting for registration for a long time(Maybe about a year). Every time registration opens,I miss it. But now, I FINALLY GOT IT WOOOT!

I suppose the Damaged Goods Era is worth mentioning, and of course Sarge. but i'll let someone more qualified tell that tale.

I remember back in 2009 when I first played this game, there was a java browser version of the game which never worked, guilds were just starting up, and you could post maps for staff to setup as your private guild room. Do they still allow that?

Ok I was here when server was down for weeks and everyone got tokens, I was here for DG, I was here for the great divide of DG and I was also here for that STUPID rollback after the servers were slightly hacked.



Damaged Goods (DG) was started by Sarge and had GokuLS, Thug, PunasaurusRex, relapseLS, CheckedZebra, Luiard, docke, ianh991, xXWristCutterXx (for a bit), rhazerat, Dovee and I (I know there was more but SOOOO sorry if i forgot u guys). Sarge got banned for being Sarge, and the guild was divided into 4 different guilds SuperSayians (SS), DeathWish (DW), and ianh991s guld (forgot the name). This was also around the time that 420Guillotine, Doors_of_Perception, The Sexy People, Apple Juice, CaNaDiAn_BaCoN and Sons of Liberty were around. There were a lot more tournaments made by the players which had different requirements to meet and such.



I left after the rollback of the server happened after someone hacked the PWO server and was reverted to a backup copy.

youre kind of wrong androziel lol. sarge and this other guy made it, i was one of the original members, then zebra and the rest of them joined. i left damaged_goods because it was becoming a fad, and sarge kept accepting random people. the first sub Damaged_Goods guild was the first guild i created. (the mexican border patrol) then me and sarge rid the community of flounder, followed by me and sarge going after each other for a good bit. then i got mod, and damaged_goods broke up internally due to sarge getting banned continuously and problems with gokuls.

I was considered a Damaged_Goods co-leader, and Sarge, Chaomega and I were among the first to think of the guild. That other guy could be Chaomega you're mentioning, Bis.



Ironically, something about guild controls was giving us issues so I had to join a week or so after it was made. Lol.



I think only Sarge and I really knew Chaomega. :c There were also people close to us called Uniko and Gilgameshj.



We had ideas for a lottery (that didn't go through but were well thought-out) and owned the guild bank, which had a TON of money in it before it was split among remaining leaders -months- after DG's fall.



It was one of the fewer guilds at the time more focused on community than battles. (As I remember it, I may be wrong.) I think for those who were around at the beginning or were at its core, it was something amazing. To outsiders and random nubs, it was a fad.



But I'm pretty sure everyone's memories on how it started are extremely hazy, and we'll never get a truly accurate account of how it all started.



PS: The person who helped suggest the name was a random person in the chat named Nurse_K...something. I can't remember exactly. (Nurse_Kira? Nurse_Kiara? It was something realllly similar.)



It ultimately fell due to Sarge hearing a rumor about Goku, and out of anger attacked Goku with bad rumors. Many members, who either highly respected or were close to Goku, didn't want to be part of a guild where higher members attacked eachother, and left, almost immediately creating spinoff guilds. (Such as concrete angels, blahsomething Toxic (can't remember the first part) Chaos Squadron, I think SS is but I can't remember.)



PPS: A lot of guilds want to get to know you before they add you now. Perhaps some of that was inspired by the fact that DG had a lot of random people in it, and the main members were tired of seeing random nubs with charmanders that nobody knew. I know a lot of the spinoff guilds did, although I wasn't apart of them, so if I'm misrepresenting anyone, speak up.





Another time that should be mentioned is when Pkmntrainerred as a MOD ruined the old black/green forums, and held some of the content hostage. (Also ruining a T-shirt design contest)





And starter's road.



And the lack of a tutorial before starter's road.



And before the johto gyms. And the "You took my Celebi" mart woman.
