Most Memorable Guild

I feel, in recent years, guilds have lost a considerable amount of purpose in PWO. No longer a means of making friends to reach a common goal, its almost a fad, or a social standard, to be in a guild. For a real life example, see most high school relationships.

So, what are some guilds you've been in/joined that you felt actually had purpose? And not just a passing phase?

Mine, because I've a very careful eye for guilds, would be all of them. I've learned a whole lot from them all, and they've greatly enriched my stay at PWO (which was much needed).

Reincaration by DrVirus - The Beginners Guild - This was the first guild I joined, recommended by my first friend (and enemy, ironically), Omegasigma. The guild was big, very big, because DrVirus accepted anyone and everyone who applied. But here, I met some friends and learned the ropes of the game

Ego Killers by Yami - The Powerhouse Guild - EK was, arguably, the strongest guild PWO has ever seen. Winning the Guild Tournament (official, not the petty copies), and creating the infamous, "Ego Killer" account comprised of the guilds strongest Pokemon, EK left its mark in PWO for years to come.

Renegade Knights by UF, and then JP/MK - The Experience Guild - Here would be where a lot of EKs old members would go, and rather than win tournaments (since no one would fight RK), would be the guild to polish old skills. Here was where the "RenegadeKnight" account was made for a select few who used it to hunt shinies. It would be the beginning of my Gastly hunt.

Reign of Horror by Riot - The Friendship Guild - Moreso about hanging out, RoH would be my current guild, where I'd make the best of friends who stuck by me even after I left PWO.

I'm very proud to say I was a part of these guilds, and I've never taken any of them for granted :3

I've only been in one guild, TetraElemental.

I loved TE when it just started,it was so active. I liked the members it had too.

But now it's pretty much dead.

There are only 2 guilds I have been apart of, during my time at PWO.

Polaris: After 2 months, since I started playing PWO, I began to consider looking for a guild to join. Back in mid-2009, guilds were much more exclusive than they have been in recent years, and most of them held some sort of requirements or criteria, to ensure that you were befitting for the guild's theme/purpose.

Eventually, I was recommended by an old friend (Jake_Meir, who no longer plays), to join Polaris. Although Polaris was a small guild, they did not hold strict requirements; you were just required to have one dragon-type Pokemon, or a pokemon in the dragon-egg group, over level 50 iirc, and I met those requirements simply by having a level 50+ Charizard, which counted because it was in the dragon-egg group.

My memory of my time spent in the guild is rather vague (heh, I can't even recall the guild leader's name tbh), and the guild was short-lived. After 1 month of participating in the guild, the guild eventually disbanded, as the guild leader went inactive, and a few of the core members either went inactive or left to another guild due to inactivity. I myself departed from the guild, and a few weeks later, I went on hiatus from the game.

PoinTBlanK: Although I would briefly pop into PWO every now and then (mostly on holiday breaks, when I had time), I never planned on looking into a new guild until I returned full-time. After I graduated from high school, in the summer of 2010, I had a lot more time on my hands, so I started participating in the community full-time again. After returning and mentioning that I was looking for a new guild, J_Strip PMed me in-game, and we were on good terms, so he convinced me to join PoinTBlank, which was known as PlayBoy_Squad at the time.

I was one of the first members of the guild (I can only recall 5 or so other members apart of the guild at the time), and eventually the guild expanded, grew in members, and the name was changed to PoinTBlanK. Due to all of the downtime PWO has been plagued with in the last year -due to godaddy shutting down the server circa September-2010 to January-2011, as well as the 2 and a half month post-C&D era - most of our bonding time was spent on the Xat, and on our guild thread on the old forums, much more so than in-game. Even after Nintendo called the C&D on PWO, our core members were still active on Xat on a daily basis (playing other games, such as Grepolis). Due to all of the downtime of PWO during my timespan in the guild, I was unable to participate in many guild tournaments/in-game events.

Because of this guild, I was able to make a lot of friends that I might not have otherwise met, if I haven't joined the guild. Unfortunately, I currently don't have the same bond with a lot of the guild members, and a few months ago, I started going inactive due to a loss of interest in the guild. After a year of being apart of the guild, I was eventually removed for inactivity. I am not sure if this guild is still active, as I haven't seen the guild leaders, as well as most of the guild's core members, on the forums or in-game recently. Regardless, I'll still remember the good times I had with the guild in Xat, during the year I spent in the guild.

Current situation: I am solo atm, though when guild controls are up, I might create a one-man guild, once I can think of a witty guild tag to have next to my name

Although there are a few guilds that have many members that I'm on good terms with, as well as some people that I'd like to get to know better, I currently don't have any intentions on joining a new guild for a while.

The only guild I remember is the first and only guild I ever joined, Magmar Knights. All members had to have magmar; there were few members. Also, they had a really nice guild site with detailed game maps, but the site seems to be gone as well as the guild.
