Re: My PWO encounters project (looking for help)

Lol Trapinch in DD?
That Pokemon lives in the DESERT!

Not to mention that your suggestion would in fact increase the encounter rate of the rarest Pokemon about 10 times or maybe even more.

For now best place for Trapinch is DD, because neither Kanto neither Johto don't have good and hard reach Sandy Area. About catch rates, no one know real rates for any of PWO catch able, so thats why I looking for help to do best new encounters.
PS. By that way when I saw who write newest post in General PWO Talk, I know it it will be my topic, because its you Merse ;)

I happen to really like this idea. I would be nice to implement seasonal changes.

Re: My PWO encounters project (looking for help)

So basically all of this is a suggesting to make PWO more like the games? I think that they're already trying to do that. With what is currently available things like shaking grass/water, or the honey and trees probably isn't very viable for now. However i could see swarms being implemented fairly easily, but maybe not on a daily basis, maybe once a week as a sort of mini event. As for the seasons i'm not quite sure how it would work, it seems like a lot of extra work for not much change. Overall a nice idea but most seems a little unrealistic for now, but perhaps the future.

Re: My PWO encounters project (looking for help)

I'm of the opinion that, if we cannot find any reasonable location for a certain species, it should not be included into the game at this time.

Also, in the past composers have discussed music and functionality, although it takes a back seat to other projects. =) I'm glad somebody else is exploring the idea, though.

I agree with Zebby 100% percent. Just because there are some Pokemon which are not catchable yet, they don't have to become catchable just because fans like them.

Re: My PWO encounters project (looking for help)

Thats why DD renew is in beta and I looking who can help do that. Just tell what edit and I edit. And if you want help to create new encounters, just write for what maps you made and I will add there. We talk with Jinji some months ago and Tree Pokemon are mix of Honey and Headbutt for PWO.

Re: My PWO encounters project (looking for help)

I personaly find the Shaking Spots an intressting things to be add in pwo. It remain the time of catching an rare pokémon but the searching itself feels faster. Mostly you can easy reach 40% of the shaking spots in time but I don't think it's something that need to be implement anytime soon.

I like the concept of the season and time rates. The rates itself less. Maybe you could add weater with it as well.

Re: Missing maps, encounters ideas and future encounters pro

You forgot the orange islands. It's another island near kanto but was never implemented in the rom games. I also don't think it's smart to add default hoenn pokémon in kanto even it was in the rom game. I nowtest people attempt to go for lower generation pokémon rather than the new ones. In the case of hoothoot and sentret they are less worthly when progress later in the game during there lack of evolutions and more early evolutions than the 1st generation. Still add the start of the game they seem to be equal. But players think to the futher rather than on the moment there in the game.

Here an modifcate example for route 1:
Encounter during 24hrs
  • Pidgey: (morning ++; day +; evening: -; night: --)

Orange Islands may be after Hoenn, info there. Hoothoot and Sentret its belong to that map. By that way, you forget about another encounter types in yours Route 1. So now yours and mine Route 1 looks like more unfinished.

Re: Missing maps, encounters ideas and future encounters pro

I would really love to see sevii islands added, dont know if it would be to difficult to make as there only 7 relatively small islands, nd love the idea of gible being HR in DD only problem is that they dont live in water, "Gible lives in tunnels it constructs inside warm caves. Some also prefer to live in forests. It prefers heat similar to that of a tropical climate"- according to bulbapedia other then tht theres some great ideas

Yeah I know someone will saw that, answer is easy. In reality (Anime) its only one way saw and fish out in from ground or grass. For PWO that impassible, but Fish Out in water is possible and him is Land Shark who able to swim. Him like Sharpedo with legs. Thats why that only good and best way for PWO, because will be super hard to catch. Gible will be most lowest rate Pokemon in PWO and hardest Pokemon to catch in PWO to. That will give really big entertainment for game.
