Hmmm what could this mean... ::)

*drumrolls*

LEGENDARY POKEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well here is my idea, may not work now, but something to consider down the future....

Introduction of a Legendary Moderator.

What is his/her job? To moderate where the legendary pokemon are with there respective trainer and manage the legends so that they are always in-game rather then being stuck in dead accounts/banned accounts/whatever...

How would you obtain a legendary? I donno, shoot me some ideas guys...possibly...
- player with most hours accumulated in PWO?
- player who wins a battle tournament?
- player who wins a hunting/hide-n-seek game?

How do you lose possession of legendary pokemon?
- not being active for 1month+
- getting banned
- getting "X" amount of mutes

With this specific moderator he/she will make sure that these legends are circulated within the game at a constant basis..players can retrieve data for one of the most sought for pokemon in pokedex, LEGENDS. If the owner of the legendary poke decides to battle.

Now I know the player who owns one may get spammed at, but simply type /pmoff if you wish to prevent this...

I for one would voluntarily be willing to be this kind of moderator if need be...

Do I speak some sense OR am I just going nukin futs ???
Wanna hear your thoughts guys... ::)

I feel this would lead to favoritism and kiss-assery very very quickly.

And deservedly so...there will always be kiss-assery be it legend poke or not. If you got the money in PWO because you sell tokens, this can lead to favoritism/kiss-assery. If you obtain a (S) HR/VR, this too can lead to favoritism/kiss-assery, being a guild leader can lead to the same thing, the list can go on. I just think it wouldn't hurt to try this idea out, test the waters out...if it works out fine for say 1 year, maybe we should pursue this idea, if not the project will be scrapped up..

PLUS before I heard Mewtwo or Mew was given out to tourney winner, the person got banned or simply left the game without the decency to pass on the legend and forever lost was this Mew/Mewtwo...The main idea here is to supplement the game with this so called legendary moderator to make sure that one legend is alive forever...

Ultimately players will have a sense of purpose and a goal in the future of PWO to get there hands on one of these legends...

I can't say if this idea is crazy or not, and anything is within the realm of possibility given the right context.

What happens if the person with the legendary decides to trade/sell it, or releases it? And when you say only one legendary in game at a time do you mean only one individual of a species (so one Mewtwo, Jirachi etc) or do you mean only one single legendary-class Pokemon will be loaned out to the playerbase?

In addition to the requirements you posted for this idea, I think it would be interesting if the legendary Pokemon were loaned for a month max to the chosen player and then the next month another player was allowed to possesses it. That way a lot more people could use the time to fulfill their pokedex entries (this is assuming that the original winner is well behaved and active and would have been able to possesses the winning Pokemon for years). If it was only one single legendary class Pokemon granted out to the playerbase, perhaps the player who wins the contest/event for it can also specify what legendary they want to rent, that way if a person wins more than one event/contest they could rent a different legendary as the prize to help their pokedex collection entries.

This topic is meant to mold towards the "right context", gather other peoples opinions and further legitimize this idea...

So what I meant to say is only 1 legendary pokemon of each in game. For example there will be one Mewtwo, one Mew, one Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, etc....

Rules would be enforced by us, the community. I'd say no trading/selling allowed of course because that would be absurd..

Currently there are 2 regions, so I'd say only the Legends of these 2 regions be available...

So with both regions that is a total of 11 legends in game...I also made this topic to further develop ideas with the community of PWO on how to make it more viable...lending to strangers per month as a legends mod is i think too much work. Imagine a "noob" holding rights to a legendary poke. ??? The player deserving of these legends must sustain some sort of legendary status of course..be it in-game hours, winning a huge official tournament, etc..

Once this player quits game, is inactive for 1month+ or whatever the reason. The legendary pokemon is taken possession of by the mod, and given to the next hardest worker in PWO...But that is just my idea. I hope I made myself a little more clear.

If anyone has additional ideas or reasons they dislike the idea please do tell. I'd like to hear..

i consider any topic that suggests introducing legends to the game to be a troll topic, this one seems to be trying to hard

this would only invite hostility, negativity, and mistrust. the potential negatives FAR outweighs the best case scenario positives

who is to define what makes a player inactive? who is to define the time period? what happens when the player comes back a day/week after that inactivity period to see pokemon TAKEN away from him?

to be blunt and not trying to be mean, this is the worse idea i have seen for legend pokemon being put in game.

And may I ask how you would introduce Legendary Pokemon in a better way? I'm really curious and would like to hear other solutions if not this.

I only think legendary pokemon should be in a mmo for being battled like they are now.

But not to catch it defeats the point of calling them legendary.

While I don't like the idea of a single person with the power to give and take legends- I think that would be a disaster- I don't see why so many people are against having legends in PWO altogether. They need to remain legendary yes, there should only be one of each, yes, but why not have them catchable?

I also don't see why if we have this legendary theme going that legends- whether caught or awarded- should stay with a player forever. I think that a legendary pokemon may 'choose' to travel with a pokemon trainer that proved him or herself worthy, but not forever. Maybe for a season, 3 months say, then the pokemon leaves that person and returns to the wild to do whatever legends do.

For instance it would make perfect sense for me to make the three legendary dogs catchable at a very low rate on random maps, much like they are in the handhelds. Only here there would be no way to know which map they are on at all. We would get no hint at all as to which maps they are on so there is no actual 'hunt', but there is the possibility anyone can come across one anywhere. If someone finds one but can't catch it, it moves to another random map. If they catch it, they get to keep it for 3 months and then it moves on from that person and back to a random map. It's random, fair, and a major theme of pokemon gets added to PWO. Win. ^-^

Your suggestions are too short-term. From what I've read, players would be basically sharing shinies with each other if the decide to take a break for a month or so. I ocassionally take breaks from this game, nearly 2-5 months at time depending on how I feel. So if I were to receive Ho-oh and I decide to take a break for a month, I can't expect to see the Ho-oh in my PC when I comeback?

That is exactly the point...keep the flow of the Legends! Anyways, there is no point of suggesting this as it will never ever happen, at least the way I laid it out. I can just keep on dreaming... :D

Just for the record legendary pokemon given to players have restrictions on them other pokemon do not have- one of them being they cannot be traded or sent to a guild bank.
