"failed to init Direct3D automation error"

whenever i try to log on i seem to get the message "failed to init Direct3D automation error" anyone have any answers as it seems this only happens on my laptop, and is quite frustrating.

Sounds like a hardware/software issue, have you tried installing the latest direct3D?
