Email services and Registration

Hello there.

The following announcement doesn't have an affect on registration since it's done via an external service.

You may have noticed by now with the number of times we've said it - we're currently having technical problems with the host PC where our email server, maps and web services are stored. Due to this we're unable to check the status of the email server (which is likely down based on comments from users). Anyone intending to use anything that makes use of email are best holding off and trying to make use of the feature in a few days time. We're currently waiting on Xan.

The following announcement only applies to those with new account requests.

After discussing it with people on Twitter, we have changed the number of keys sent out every 3 hours. We can't currently update our website files which is why the information on there is going to be out of date. We're going from 58 requests being selected to 10% of requests being selected*. With that as well, keys themselves will now expire after 6 hours rather than 24 hours - we recommend users to be wise about when they request. By this, I mean request knowing you will be around during the sendout period.

Update: Contacted Xan, host has now been contacted. Hopefully should be sorted soon enough.

A friend have a problem with it, he tried to register about 5 times right now but it says that within 3 hours you will get the key, but it takes 2 days to get the key to register, when he got it it said that it wasnt valid, because of the 6 hours....

We are from Argentina, is there a solution?

Im doing a new account request for a friend who cannot register because of the delay of the e mail

Keys shouldn't be invalid for 'friends requests'. These can be made by logging into the Playerdex.

i request ~30 times to get 10 keys and only 1 was valid ( all tried within 6 hours, most times 5 mins after recieve ). i used friend request through a friend AND normal request . So its true, most of the keys are invalid, also friend requested keys.
