Changing stats during trade?

I traded a Pikachu from a friend which was more than promising. I checked its stats in Veekun before the trade then I decided to buy it. Then I checked its stats and they were totally different, except of the HP. I doublechecked the data before I bought it so I don't think that I mistyped or confused the stats.
Is it possible that sometimes the trade changes the stats/IVs of the Pokemon?

it also happens to me in 3 days ago, the stats somehow change during trade, like a visual error, but after trade its back to normal. BUT some people use that as a scam. so got to be careful.

In my case it did not change back to normal, that's what is the strangest in it.
I was lucky by the way, my friend offered me to repay the price of the Pokemon. So thank you mate here too
