First of all EV's arent in PWO. (Effort values where training on different pokemon boosts certain stats)

And the only way to get better stats is to catch multiple amounts of the same pokemon and compare their stats, keeping the one with the highest.

And no evolving a pokemon later will not alter the end result.

Also you can compare your pokemons stats on IV sites such as:

http://veekun.com/dex/gadgets/stat_calculator

To see just how good your pokemon is.

all status changes as a small percentage margins anything that could be an aggravating factor fixed, but the IV already defined can be sure that the LV 100 will be what was shown at the beginning itdoes not matter how many pokemon evolutions do, because the IVis equal to its DNA

You cannot "improve" your pokemon statistics as they are fixed, and as stated before. PWO does not offer EVs.

As Dait stated, you will basically have to catch multiple of the same pokemon, and level it a bit to get accurate readings on the the IVs.

Another thing worth noting is that Shiny Pokemon , have set IVs between 28-32.

As to your 2nd question, I'm. Since you are refusing to level the Pokemon, it follows the same IV chart for whatever form it is in. When it evolves, it follows a new one. However I am not sure, because evolving the Pokemon gives you stat boosts which I believe compensate the jump from levels. Someone else would have to give you a more definitive answer to that.

wew.. and i thought this is a basic knowledge that all pokemon players should know.. <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/PikachuExcited.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":D" />

kay, basically there are 4 things that affects pokemon stats :

1. Base Stats

2. IV

3. EV

4. Natures

Base stats are identical for each "species" of pokemon. i.e all alakazam have 135 base spatk, all snorlax have 160 base HP, etc..

IVs are like its DNA, to put it simple, IV is what makes 2 pokemons with the same species and level could have different stats

EV and natures aren't available in PWO yet so i won't say anything abt them atm

and, really these things are mandatory if u've played the handheld version before,,

and the stats of a pokemon is really just a simple math of the factors Lvl, base stats, IVs, EVs, and natures that actually is very easy to figure out (although u dont really put a lot of thought in it since there are already lots of stat calc programs)

so to answer the question : you can improve your poker "stats", just lvl it up (well duh.. )

evolving a pokemon wont change its IVs (or EVs), but it will change the base stats since the evolved form of a poke have better base stats then its pre-evolved form,,

Actually, I've played games from the first 4 gens and I only knew about Natures before coming to PWO, and that is because its on the pokemon's stat screen. There was no reason for me know or care about IVs/Evs and the like. Not every player is looking for the strongest pokemon or the perfect type, a lot of players just want to play the game with pokemon they enjoy <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/RattataSquint.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=">_<" />

But, other that that, you are right about how to make your pokes stronger <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/BulbasaurSilly.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":p" />

i agree with chocobo, i personally dont want the best top tier pokemon with perfect stats and whatnot, i feel those kind of things eat away the fun in the game, i play because of the love of the game in total

well, i myself never put a lot of thoughts on IVs when i played in the handheld, but that doesn't mean i should ignore what was really a simple thing to understand.. i just dont want to play like my 7 years old cousin who just lvl up and go on battles clueless.. and knowing how things work doesnt make it less fun you know? unless its a very hard thing to understand..

and yeah, maybe its a bit over when i said its mandatory in the handheld, but since this is PW-Online, this is an important thing to understand (well if u want a competitive game that is).. and i really do think almost all PWO players is an IV-enthusiast.. just look at the price of shinnies,, i mean they're not ridiculously expensive just because it had a cute color and u "loved" them right? <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/PiplupHappy.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt="^_^" />

Personally I love how IV's and EV's work in the hand held games. I think that trying to get your favorite Pokemon with the best possible stats is, whilst it can be frustrating, a competitive and fun standpoint in the games. I'm glad to see that IV's are apart of PWO. However..

Online calculators like this and the one at Serebii.net aren't really helpful. Why? PWO doesn't have EV's. In PWO your Pokemon stats go up by their IV's, so stats will go higher than they would if they didn't have EV's but EV's were attainable. For example, my Level 11 Pidgeotto with the following stats: 35, 19, 21, 18, 16, 21 is apparently impossible. Though I would like to know it's IV's.
