Map Issues

I downloaded the client for PWO and after signing I go into a server with others there, but the map doesn't load and I am stuck where I am. I can use other features fine, but I can't move. I get this message when I try and move:

mapissue2.jpg

Then I get the great black background :/

mapissue3.jpg

Things that I have tried to fix the solution was, updating my flash and computer clean up. Sadly I am out of ideas, I tried to use the search feature on my problem but it says I can't use words less than four characters :/ I have tried google and the wiki and this is all I get.

Info :

When I log in, the map is black, my character is standing on a single grass tile and no one is speaking in chat. Why is that?

It means the server is full. Look at the chat to find a System message explaining that your connection to the server was refused due to being full. Log off and try to log in again.

The map around me is all the same grass tile or all black.

The request for the map timed-out and failed to load properly. While you can still move around the map, you will still be bounded by the obstacles that would be there if the map loaded correctly. To fix this problem, log out of the game and attempt to log into the game again.

If someone could be so kind and shade some light on my issue, Thanks <img src="http://www.pokemon-world-online.net/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ChikoritaSmile.png" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":)" />

This can happen if Server Lag prevents the map you are on from being properly downloaded from the server while the client is loading. Relogging may help; otherwise, just try playing another time.

The PWO Client expects to receive the map from the server while the Client itself loads (which is why it sometimes loads really slowly - it's still waiting for it); but if the Server is being intensely slow, it can cause the whole map to not be fully received or not received at all, causing black/green screens. Due to many more people registering in a short time frame than was expected, there has been a lot more lag since registration was reopened as the server is having to cope with a lot more at once. But we hope to improve things soon.

Thanks, just finished editing my post to be a little more detailed. I did wait about hour or more to give it a try again, but sadly its the same thing. Glad to hear that things will be improved in time, and thanks for taking a look at my post.

Possibly, it just crossed my mind, maybe my java might be outdated, not sure what the client runs on.

If there is anything on your computer that could be outdated and hindering PWO, it would be DirectX. The Pokémon World Online Client is currently coded using Visual Basic, with DirectX used for graphical enhancements.

A Java Client was briefly in development many months ago, but was quickly dropped due to technical issues and developer lack of time. I personally still hold out hope we will see a non-Windows-exclusive alternative some time in the future though.
