I used the teleporter in the Lavender tower and am now stuck in a wall outside of the town.

So while I am in a battle with a wild Pokemon I go to open my backpack to use a Pokeball but I click and click and click and the backpack will not open, it will how ever open outside of battles, any reason what may be causing this?
