So, as you all probably noticed, due to all the work we put into launching the Water Laboratory and associated quest last month and our various busy schedules following it, there was no June swarm event. But we couldn't let our loyal player base down, now, could we?
Now, it's pretty well known that I'm a Ghost with a real passion for pyrotechnics. Over in the Unova region, there's a particular holiday observed every year around this time to celebrate the region's independence from other lands; and apparently, a key part of this celebration is the gratuitous use of fireworks all over the land. And this gave me an idea… why don't we do a little themed swarm to coincide with this little occasion?
Let's cut to the chase. From Thursday 3rd July 11:00 UTC to Sunday 6th July 23:00 UTC, Route 9 will host a number of special Pokémon swarms known for their short fuses and explosive personalities!
But don't worry, we haven't completely lost our marbles! The Staff wouldn't permit me to do a “who can survive the most explosions” award for reasons of “reckless public endangerment” (spoilsports). We also know that Pokémon exploding before you can catch them gets annoying and old after a while — so, we'll be carefully calibrating all the swarms so that they are too low level to learn their explosive attacks in the wild. That said, the PWO Staff accept no responsibility for anything Trainers do once any Pokémon are in their possession…
