I think the name change is great, it's a perfect indicator of the personal growth Towel has been through since he started playing this game: at first he was nothing more than a reference to a side character in a cartoon that used to be good, but during these past few years with us he's clearly outgrown that status: he's no longer a side character, but a mainstay in this beautiful game that all of us here love. He's truly earned the name Towel!

The problem is just that the name "Towel" has no soul, it is far too common and boring of an item. It's like being called "chair" or "desk". Someone suggested "Towely" as an alternate spelling which I think is not great, but still acceptable.
