Pikachu in Viridian Forest.

Hi all,

So I'm quite new to the game (been playing pokemon games on the console a lot) and I know you can catch Pikachu in Viridian Forest.
I know he is ''rare'' but I never thought it would be this rare.

Been searching for hours for 3 days now and still no sign of a Pikachu. A friend of mine is doing the same, he encountered 2x Scyther (which is more rare than Pikachu). I myself encountered 2x Pidgeotto (Same rarity rate), but still no single Pikachu.

Viridian Forest is full of players searching for a Pikachu in there but no one had the 'luck' so far I guess, because I see the same people there every single day grinding it.

I know you can find it also in the Power Plant, but read somewhere here on the forum that it is also rare in there?

I prefer to get it before Im going to beat Misty (Pikachu will be my main pokemon).

So is Pikachu actually in Viridian Forest in this game? So yes, it's way too rare in my opinion.

I can assure you it is in Viridian Forest. I've found a few in there myself.

People want Pika so badly they are willing to spend weeks in the VIridian rather than beating Misty then go to to the Powerplant and catch one in a few hours. And all that needs only about 2 days.

One of the things about this game since its an MMO is that they try to have a grinding/hunting aspect to the game to keep a goal for players, so finding VRs and HRs can be very difficult. You can find Pika in Viridian forest, however its well known that its easier to find it in the power plant due to there being less spawns there than in the Forest. The more possible pokemon you can encounter, the harder it is to find a particular one you're searching for, get it? But you can certainly find one, you just have to dedicate some time to it.

Unless there was an update recently Pikachu is Very Rare, not Rare. And in Viridian Forest Admin have stated that the rate is the same as many Horribly Rare pokemon elsewhere in the game. I've been playing since 2009 over four accounts starting in Kanto, and my kids another 4 accounts starting there and we have never seen a pikachu in Viridian Forest. If you get lucky fine, but I feel it's a waste of time hunting specifically for pikachu there.
