NoisyBoy and Staff did come to agreement in private to allow him to also claim 3rd place alongside Fugaku, as we do agree with his, and parquettistapazzo thoughts that our communication was not sufficient regarding the extension, which did specifically affect them. Though I do not agree with the hostility coming through in this topic by peoples.
Relax, the situation is resolved, all is well.
Anyway, here is the information about the Event Rewards and how to claim them.
Location of the Rewards NPC
The Rewards NPC will be added inside Vermilion and Cherrygrove Pokecenters. It will be available by 2359 UTC, 16/01/25 until a later date, we've not decided, but potentially weeks or months away.
How to claim tokens from the NPC?
This is also (briefly) explained inside the Rewards NPC, but in order to redeem the tokens from the Reward NPC:
- Score more than 500 points, or be 1st/2nd/3rd for your team.
- Speak to the NPC and claim your other rewards first.
- You then need to log out of the game. Will not work if you stay logged in.
- Go to the Token section of your account on the Playerdex
- Click on the "Check Unclaimed Tokens" button.
- Rewarded Tokens should be added to your account.
About Event rewards going forwards
There was a slight delay as Staff were deep in discussion regarding how to handle the event rewards, as some players were found using alt accounts to go against the spirit of the event.
Seeing players use Alt accounts to essentially swap to the winning team was quite disappointing. Sadly, we did not tighten down every single bolt and hammer down every nail on the ship to ensure players don't break the rules. We do our best to ensure everything is fair, and sometimes note of certain conditions in our events just to be clear. But we did not explicitly tell players to not do this, because we thought it was not necessary. And as shown prior, communication is important when it comes to handling information given to the players.
So in this sense, in a narrow margin as there were strong cases for and against within staff, we will not be restricting the rewards based on alts this time. Simply because we did not mention not to in the event announcement, and by the time we got to it, it would be too late to enforce new rules onto players mid/late event.
However going forwards we will be outright disallowing this, with punishment that could follow. It makes our lives harder trying to catch every single possible exception, and will have to make actual server side changes to also make alt farming more impossible. It is not fun when a majority of event planning is spent trying to prevent players from breaking the games rules.
