Paypal is easily the safest method of paying for anything over the internet.  I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the staff will not accept you mailing a check or money to one of them for payment.

If you're still wary, I'd say getting a visa or mastercard giftcard and register exact sameaddress on both the card and PP and then use the gift card as a credit card thru PP 2 donate.

while it isin't my place to say (not area of expertise), mailing a check/money is not acceptable, only PayPal is available for donations

As far as I'm aware, Paypal is the only way to donate at this time, wether this changes in the future is yet to be seen. Don't know why you needed staff to answer though....
